The Mountain University – Edolo campus of the University of Milan, the University of Eastern Piedmont and the University of Tuscia met the main national stakeholders active in the study and enhancement of mountain areas on Wednesday, 9th May in Rome, at the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), five months after the official launch of the Italian Mountain Lab project (FISR 2016 project, special supplementary fund for MIUR research).
The purpose of this meeting was to share ideas and consolidate coordination between the world of research, business and government of mountain areas, in order to capitalize and enhance existing experiences, as well as to identify actions aimed at increasing sensitivity and awareness towards the problems and opportunities of the mountains. Through the sharing of information, best practices and experiences among a network of stakeholders of the Alps and the Apennines, it will indeed be possible to achieve highly effective results for mountain areas.
To find a strategy that promotes the theme of the development of mountain environments, some representatives of the Ministry of Education, University and Research also intervened to explore and identify possible synergies between Italian high schools, the University system and the world of research.
