On Tuesday 25 June, the EUSALP 1 Action Group – Research and Innovation – is organising a workshop to discuss which comparative frameworks could help policymakers and stakeholders to improve their innovative performance by learning from other regions, and which synergies and complementarities could be enhanced in the context of Macro-Regional Strategies (MRS). The event will take place within the States General for Research and Innovation organised by the Lombardy Region.
The workshop focuses on one of the results achieved by Action Group 1 within the Interreg Alpine Space AlpGov project: the comparative analysis of the priorities of the Smart Specialization Strategies (S3) of the regions involved in EUSALP. This analysis is essential to the identification of common shared priorities and the elaboration of an S3 and a research agenda at macro-regional level.
Considering that the capitalization of existing and other projects results is one of the keys to implement macro-regional strategies, the workshop includes some contributions from national and international experts and actors involved in the coordination between the different macro-regional strategies launched at European level.
Since the use of technological tools can help to foster networking between the world of research, business and governance, the Re-Search Alps platform (http://app.researchalps.eu/), will be presented during the event: Re-Search Alps is an interactive database able to support the achievement of the objectives of Action Group 1 and funded by EU TELECOM/CEF. The platform identifies maps and geolocalises laboratories and research centres and their activities and research projects in the Alpine region and in the 7 countries involved.
Therefore, this workshop – which takes place within the year of EUSALP Italian Presidency – will contribute to better focus future actions in the context of research and innovation in order to achieve the objectives set out in the mission of EUSALP.
