The demonstration activity includes a training visit to two farms in Valle Camonica (BS) that grow rye and officinal herbs. During the activity, farmers of the Bio-district of Valle Camonica and UNIMONT researchers – University of Milan – will demonstrate best practices for sowing, harvesting and processing rye (Secale cereale L.) and mountain medicinal plants. The technicians of Rete Semi Rurali (RSR) will also present the new “House of Alpine Seeds” in Cerveno (BS), a place where researchers, technicians, farmers and consumers can collaborate to conserve and manage cereal seeds, medicinal plants and alpine vegetables.
The activity is mainly aimed at owners of mountain farms that grow/process cereals and/or medicinal plants.
