UNIMONT receives the “Montagna Italia Award for Culture” as part of the Orobie Film Festival 2025

The UNIMONT hub of the University of Milan will play a key role at the 19th edition of the Orobie Film Festival, scheduled from 20th to 25th January 2025, receiving the prestigious “Premio Montagna Italia per la cultura” and participating in one of the evenings with a presentation of its activities.

The Orobie Film Festival, organized by the Montagna Italia Association with the support of numerous local and regional bodies and institutions, represents an important event for mountain lovers. The event is not limited to cinema but is enriched with cultural, photographic and in-depth events regarding organizations and associations that work in mountain areas.

UNIMONT will participate in the Festival on two different occasions. On Friday, January 24th, at 8:30 pm at the Cinema Gavazzeni in Seriate (BG), Prof. Anna Giorgi, head of the UNIMONT hub, will present the work of this University of Milan Campus in promoting the sustainable and innovative development of mountain territories. An opportunity to highlight the value of the synergy between research, training and cultural valorization in addressing the challenges of Italian and international mountains.

On Saturday, January 25th, at 11:00 am, at the Sala Galmozzi in Bergamo, during the Award Ceremony, UNIMONT will receive the “Premio Montagna Italia per la cultura”. This recognition celebrates the work of the Alpine hub of the University of Milan in consolidating a local, national and European network to respond to the ecological and economic challenges of mountain areas, promoting innovative and sustainable solutions.
