February 19, 2016, was presented in Milan the new “Alps Benchmarking Report”, report that compares the socio-economic profile of 6 Alpine provinces.
It is a joint initiative of Bolzano, Trento, Sondrio, Aosta, Cuneo and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola Chambers of commerce , in order to share economic data, experiences and good practices and promote the sustainable development of the Alps. The comparison between geographically and structurally similar provinces give intersting ideas on how to promote the regional economy.
The report also contains insights on important economy sectors of the mountain areas, including the dairy sector, forestry, tourism, energy production and the natural stone industry.
Soon the project will also be extended to foreign Alpine regions.
