December, 11th – Ponte di Legno (BS) – Winter tourism and sports in Alpine Areas: future perspectives and scenarios

The CrC Ge.S.Di.Mont. of UNIMONT – detached research centre Edolo of the State University of Milan, invites all stakeholders of the mountain area to participate in the event “Winter tourism and sports in the Alpine Area: perspectives and future scenarios” to be held on the 11th December at the Municipality of Ponte di Legno (BS) from 16.00 to 18.30.

The event will be an opportunity to present the Interreg Alpine Space Smart Altitude project, led by the Municipality of Les Orres (France) which aims to enable and accelerate the implementation of low-carbon policies in winter tourism locations. There are technical solutions for reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in mountain areas based on winter tourism, with a reduction potential of up to 40%. However, the main compromises are at the center of their slow adoption: they require a stronger and more innovative involvement in strategic steps (objectives, priorities, risks), economic challenges (costs, funding) and organizational challenges (partnership, involvement of stakeholders).
