Today, more than ever, it is crucial to recognize the interconnectedness between humans, nature, and technology. A “more-than-human” design approach embraces a broader perspective that takes into consideration the impact of our actions on animals, plants and the surrounding environment.
The goal of the DS4Planet Festival – EIT Community Ignite NEB is to focus on the Post-Anthropocene era, encouraging participants to promote fair transition, considering the sustainable impact and long-term importance of current choices, co-designing solutions with and for local communities, allowing them to move towards more Planet-centered and inclusive lifestyles.
Within the Festival, promoted by Studio Shift, 10 new product/service proposals will be collaboratively designed so as to be capable of promoting reconnection – and new connections – with Nature, embracing a deep and climate-resilient vision, and integrating speculative future thinking approaches and design tools. Participants can be “change-makers” from different domains: designers, green activists, artists, entrepreneurs. Interdisciplinary groups will be created to address future challenges, according to two categories: business and community impact. Two of the ideas (one per category) will be awarded €1,000 and will have access to a subsequent NEB Grow incubation program worth €10,000 (in services).
The call is open until September 1st!
