Sport was the main attraction in Edolo for a whole day on Wednesday, 10th April, with the second edition of Edolo Sports Day, the sports event organized by the University of Milan in collaboration with the CUS of the University of Milan, the Municipality of Edolo and the Istituto Comprensivo in Edolo.
Students of all levels of schools in Edolo took part playing volleyball, basketball and football, from primary school to middle school including high school students up to undergraduates of the University of Milan who attend the Faculty of Agriculture in Edolo. In particular, just for them, there was a special stage of the Faculty Championships, the largest sports event promoted by the University of Milan.
A total of over 300 students participated throughout the day, all in the name of healthy sporting competition. To triumph for the middle schools there was “La Nazionale” in volleyball, “Novaball” in basketball and “Gabibbi” in football. For the high school, “Col’Ass” won in volleyball, “4^S” in basketball and “Erre” in football. The prestigious “Unimont Cup” reserved for university students was instead won by students of the second year of the degree course in Agricultural and Food Sciences.
The day also included a Prize-giving ceremony with institutional representatives including the Head of the Istituto Comprensivo Raffaella Zanardini, the Regional Federal Coordinator of the Youth and School Sector of the FIGC Giuseppe Terraneo and the mayor of Edolo Luca Masneri.
«A very positive day – commented the organizers of the CUS Statale – with a much higher number of participants compared to the first edition. A great result for the school, for the Municipality and for the University»
