A meeting was held at the BIM of Breno (BS) on Monday 8th April 2019 – to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Confartigianato Brescia and Eastern Lombardy, on the theme “Eusalp: the Alpine macro-region and Europe”. Prof. Anna Giorgi, UNIMONT Lecturer and Leader of Action Group 1 – Research and Innovation – of EUSALP was invited to make a contribution regarding the activity in the framework of the Alpine Regional Macro Strategy.
EUSALP is the fourth EU Macro Regional Strategy, based on a “modern vision” of the future of a rich and dynamic transactional area characterized by the presence of the ALPS. 2019 is the year of the Italian Presidency of EUSALP, which saw the Lombardy Region receive the task of coordination for Italy, with the support of the Piedmont Region and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
The development of an effective research and innovation ecosystem, the objective of Action Group 1, can take place by strengthening communication between representatives of the world of research, business and public administration. For this reason, the choice of Confartigianato to organize a seminar on the theme of the Alpine Macro Region Strategy is strategic and consistent with the challenges that territories, including those in the mountains, must face.
“Meeting the artisans of Valle Camonica to talk about EUSALP indicates how processes which are innovative and apparently far from local dynamics can reach mountain territories, to promote new and modern approaches to increase the competitiveness of strategic activities such as manufacturing and craftsmanship”, commented Anna Giorgi.
