Edolo (BS), 18th December 2024 – Historic day at the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan, where the first graduation session of the international Master’s Degree Course “Valorization and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas” – MOUNTAINSIDE was held.
The protagonists of the event were Anna Orselli and Cristian Moretti, who successfully completed this innovative academic course, unique in its kind and entirely in English. Their experience is an important step towards the training of experts capable of contributing to the sustainable development and enhancement of mountain areas, addressing the specific challenges of these territories.
Anna Orselli commented: «At the end of my studies I would like to base in the mountains, finding a way to work and live in this environment, thus combining my passion for sport with a professional future».
Cristian Moretti, instead, emphasized the connection between his thesis project and the local area: «My thesis work helps the Adamello Brenta Park in the development of research on the increase in wolves in a specific study area. For the future, I see myself working in Valle Camonica, where I have decided to settle».
Professor Anna Giorgi, head of the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan, after the graduation ceremony remarked: «This is an important day for the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan. The first master’s degree graduates are pioneers, mountain experts with in-depth knowledge and advanced technological tools. This training can bring enormous benefits to mountain territories, promoting the development and enhancement processes that mountains urgently need».
