Open call for proposals for the PECSRL biennal international conference

The 27th session of the Permanent European Conference for the Study of the Rural Landscape, on “Mountains, uplands, lowlands. European landscapes from an altitudinal perspective” will be held from 5–9 September 2016 in Innsbruck and Seefeld, Tyrol/Austria.

All institutions, geographers, landscape architects, historians, ethnographers, archaeologists, ecologists, rural planners, landscape managers and scholars interested in European landscapes are invited to present abstracts for oral and poster proposals.

PECSRL particularly welcomes papers on comparative themes related to European mountain areas – be they comparisons between different mountain areas, between mountains and their adjacent areas or between highlands and lowlands – either with a topical or thematic, theoretical or methodological emphasis. They are also looking forward to submissions on topical issues of rural areas in Europe. Deadline for abstracts is 2016-01-31.
