Send your scientific contribution to the special issue of the international journal ‘Plants’ (IF: 4.658): “Responses of Plants and Plant Communities to Environmental Changes in Mountain Areas”

The Ge.S.Di.Mont. Research Center of UNIMONT – Centre of Excellence of the University of Milan invites researchers to send scientific contributions for the special edition of the international journal ‘Plants’ entitled “Responses of Plants and Plant Communities to Environmental Changes in Mountain Areas” of which Prof. Anna Giorgi and Dr. Luca Giupponi are Guest Editors .

Mountain areas have a vast heritage in terms of plant species and communities which, due to recent environmental changes mainly attributable to global warming and the change in management of the territory, require particular attention. For this reason, the special issue “Responses of Plants and Plant Communities to Environmental Changes in Mountain Areasof the international scientific journal ‘Plants’ (Impact Factor 4.658; Open Access) aims to collect relevant scientific contributions resulting from research in the field of botany, which analyze the responses of mountain plant species (or vegetation) to environmental changes, in order to increase knowledge that allows for a better understanding of the future scenarios of mountain ecosystems and to plan/initiate the most appropriate actions for nature conservation.

Considering the numerous projects and the fruitful research activities of the UNIMONT Ge.S.Di.Mont. research centre which aim to promote the protection and enhancement of the resources of mountain territories, Anna Giorgi – Director of the Ge.S.Di.Mont Centre, Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Development and Protection of the Mountain Environment and Coordinator of the Master’s Degree Course in Valorization and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas – and Dr. Luca Giupponi – Researcher of the Ge.S.Di.Mont Research Centre of UNIMONT – have been called to act as Guest Editors for this issue entirely dedicated to the study of mountain plant resources.

The issue “Responses of Plants and Plant Communities to Environmental Changes in Mountain Areas” aims to provide a source of scientific information not only for researchers, but also for other stakeholders, with the aim of strengthening relationships and collaboration within mountain areas.

The deadline for sending contributions is 30th November, 2023
