Plant agrobiodiversity mapping

This section of the site is dedicated to the national census of all the cultivated agricultural varieties that make up Italian agrobiodiversity. A project carried out by the CrC Ge.S.Di.Mont.

The term agricultural biodiversity or agrobiodiversity indicates all the genetic heritage related to agro-food in a given territorial area.

The knowledge of Italian plant agrobiodiversity is useful for its protection and conservation but also for relaunching unique and high quality agro-food chains.

In particular, this project was born:

• • by the “Agreement of collaboration between the Lombardy Region and Ge.S.Di.Mont, for scientific and applied research and dissemination of knowledge inherent the Lombard mountain area (pursuant to art. 4 par. 27 of the Regional Law 22/2016 ) ” that generates the project: NETWORK DELL’AGROBIODIVERSITÀ DELLE MONTAGNE LOMBARDE;
  • from the “Operating agreement between DARA – Department for regional affairs and the autonomies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Ge.S.Di.Mont – Unimont pole of the University of Milan” established with the project: VALORIZZAZIONE DELLA BIODIVERSITÀ DEI TERRITORI DI MONTAGNA, CON PARTICOLARE RIFERIMENTO ALL’AGROBIODIVERSITÀ E DERIVATI: ORIZZONTI DI BIO E GREEN ECONOMY PER LA MONTAGNA.
