Smart Mountains conference, the XII European Mountain Convention
From 25th to 27th October 2022 the Smart Mountains conference, the XII European Mountain Convention, organized by Euromontana in collaboration with Cia-Agricoltori Italiani returns to Camigliatello Silano, in the Sila National Natural Park. On this occasion the UNIMONT team of the University of Milan will present a study on governance in mountain areas.
The event includes two days of conferences and three study visits to discover the region and the Sila plateau. The aim is to define a sustainable strategy for the development of “smart” mountains by 2050.
The European Mountain Convention is an important biennial meeting that aims to bring together mountain stakeholders from all over Europe. High-level speakers and key players are invited to participate in the event. Up to 300 people are expected from different backgrounds, such as the European Commission, national ministries, local businesses, universities and development agencies.
The goal is to co-develop a common vision for more integrated and effective public policies that contribute to the sustainable development of mountain areas and a better quality of life of mountain communities.
