The conference “Europe and the Alps: how to keep a crucial region at the very core center of the EU Policy” was held today at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event, hosted by the Permanent Representation of Italy at the Council of Europe, included contributions by representatives of the political and scientific world including Prof. Anna Giorgi, head of the UNIMONT Centre, and Matteo Salvini – the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
The valorisation of mountain areas is a historic objective pursued by UNIMONT, a Center of Excellence of the University of Milan, as highlighted by Anna Giorgi, Full Professor of the University of Milan and Head of the Unimont Centre, at the conference “Europe and the Alps: how to keep a crucial region at the very core center of the EU Policy” held today at the European Parliament.
The event, hosted by the Permanent Representation of Italy at the Council of Europe, included contributions by numerous representatives of the scientific world. To represent the Italian Research and University sector there were Bocconi University and Anna Giorgi, Full Professor of the University of Milan and Head of the UNIMONT centre, together with leading figures in European politics, including Matteo Salvini – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Herbert Kasser – Austrian Minister Commissioner for Climate Action, Energy and Mobility and the European Commissioner for Transport Adina-Ioana Vălean.
