The course in Project Management for Mountain Areas has ended: 45 new planners are ready to carry out specific projects for the sustainable development of mountain areas

The last lesson of the Advanced Course in Project Management for Mountain Areas organized by UNIMONT ended on Saturday 5th June. This year 45 students completed the training course to deepen and systematize professional knowledge and skills on the subject of planning and to become expert planners of the mountain system.

The UNIMONT Centre of Excellence of the University of Milan organized an Advanced course in Project Management for Mountain Areas for the academic year 2020-2021 with the aim of training professionals capable of identifying and evaluating the most suitable tenders and calls to obtain funding and manage specific projects for the sustainable development of mountain areas: valuable professional skills as regards PNRR programs and in the context of ecological and digital transition.

Now in its 8th edition, this year the Advanced Course was attended by 45 students from all over Italy – from Friuli Venezia Giulia to Piedmont, passing through Trentino Alto Adige, up to Calabria in the Apennines – and with a very varied professional and educational background. Agronomists, Researchers, Journalists, Consultants and Planning Experts attended theory lessons online and participated in on-site workshops at the UNIMONT centre.

The Advanced  Course organized by UNIMONT aims to provide economic-managerial tools and skills useful for orienting oneself in the panorama of specific regional, national, European and international financing programs for the mountains, with the aim of responding to needs that emerge within public institutions, territorial development agencies and companies, which require professionals with adequate skills in planning for access to funding and financing.

The characteristics of mountain areas present significant opportunities in numerous sectors, from tourism, to energy, to the agri-environment, which must be enhanced and promoted with suitably elaborated project proposals, based on the specificity and uniqueness of mountain territories.
