A report about the Mountain University in Edolo, the university research and training center linked to the mountain territory, was broadcast on Radio 24 on Saturday, 8th April at 7.15 a.m.
The radio crew of Radio 24 went to the Mountain University, the Edolo Campus (BS) of the University of Milan, to report on the university Campus, its courses aimed at the sustainable development of mountain areas and potential career opportunities for those gaining a degree in this sector.
The report included an interview with Professoressa Anna Giorgi and some students of the Bachelor’s programme in “Conservation and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas”. Reference was also made to the considerable research activities carried out by Ge.S.Di.Mont. (GeSDiMont – the Centre of Applied Studies for the Sustainable Management and Protection of Mountain Areas) in recent years.
Over time, the Mountain University has also been able to establish useful collaborations with other Italian universities as well as national and international bodies and organizations. UNIMONT is an extremely extensive network with a large community of users, kept up to date by newsletters presenting and encouraging participation in the many and varied events organized by the University and aimed not only at young students. UNIMONT’s mission is therefore to enhance and transfer knowledge about the territory and mountain areas to an ever-wider public.
Not just on the radio but also in newspapers: on Thursday, 6th April, the Mountain University was mentioned in the article “Montagna disincantata. Il futuro è la rivoluzione dello sguardo” by Aldo Bonomi, in the section entitled “Il manifesto in movimento” about a return to mountain areas to valorize and conserve the territory.
