The International Master’s Degree Course “Valorization And Sustainable Development Of Mountain Areas” – MOUNTAINSIDE presents a multidisciplinary study path in English and takes place entirely in Edolo (BS) in the heart of the Central Alps, at the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan.
This strategic location allows students to integrate theoretical lessons in the lecture room with many field trips, such as those carried out during the “Sustainable management and bioeconomy of mountain forests” course held by Professor Giorgio Vacchiano.
“Here in Edolo, in Valle Camonica, we are lucky enough to be very close to the woods. For this reason my course is organized not only with theoretical lessons, but also with many field trips and practical activities to understand how the woods are linked to the territory and the people who live there“, explains Professor Vacchiano, who adds: “During the course, the students, who have different experiences and come from different parts of the world, learn that forests are connected to the well-being of society not only in the mountains, but also in the plains. Having the opportunity to study in this environment represents an extraordinary experience for students.”
