At the XIII European Mountain Convention, UNIMONT, the Alpine hub of the University of Milan, presented the White Paper on the Mountains, highlighting the key role of research in the sustainable development of mountain areas.
From October 15 to 18, UNIMONT participated in the XIII European Mountain Convention held in Puigcerdà, Catalonia. The event, organized by Euromontana, the Government of Catalonia, and CREAF, represented an important opportunity to discuss the future of mountain economies, focusing on sustainability, resilience, and prosperity.
Professor Anna Giorgi, head of the UNIMONT hub at the University of Milan, took part in the final panel of the conference titled “Towards a roadmap for resilient and prosperous mountain economies.” During her intervention, she had the opportunity to speak about the White Paper on the Mountains in this important international context and to share the path that the Italian Government is following for regulatory reorganization with the new law on the mountains, currently under discussion in Parliament. This process runs parallel to the approach taken by the Catalan Government with the new strategy for mountain areas.
