Workshop “START-UPS AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER IN INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS IN SOUTH-EAST EUROPE AND ALPINE REGION”

The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (DG JRC) in collaboration with Technology Park Ljubljana, the Action Group 1 – Research and Innovation of the European Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the SITTO consortia and the Slovenian Public research institutes, is organising on 15th and 16th November 2018 a workshop on “Start-ups and Technology Transfer in Innovation Ecosystems in South-East Europe and Alpine Regions in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The workshop on “Start-ups and Technology Transfer in Innovation Ecosystems in South-East Europe and Alpine Region” aims to provide professionals with knowledge and training/practical insights in setting up a successful start-up, spin-off and knowledge transfer platforms. In line with the objective of developing an effective research and innovation ecosystems, the Action Group 1 – Research and Innovation led by professor Anna Giorgi of UNIMONT – University of Milan, representative of Lombardy Region in EUSALP, will present two technological and innovative projects developed within EUSALP: the Platform of Knowledge (PoK) and the Re-Search Alps project.

  • The platform of Knowledge – PoK (AlpGov – Alpine Space Project)
    a virtual repository containing useful and validated data and information about the entire Alpine Region, with a 3D map of the Research Centers and Universities of the Alpine Region and an e-Learning platform and virtual rooms that facilitate exchange and cooperation among the 7 countries of the Alpine area, a strategic funding area, an urban sensing tool and much more.

  • Re-search Alps (Connecting Europe Facility CEF-TC-2016-2 – Public Open Data)
    the project will develop an algorithm for the automatic and semi-automatic collection of data about laboratories and research and innovation centres which are active in the Alpine Region. It will take this data and populate a searchable Web platform where users can query and visualize these data.

The workshop will target in particular policy makers and other innovation stakeholders such as universities, research organisations, technology transfer offices, science and technology parks, chambers of commerce, etc..
